Being a fit and healthy person is a dream of almost everyone. It is not difficult to achieve this look, but it demands a lot of time, effort, and determination. Therefore, it is very important to be persistent in your routine. Do not fall into the trap of making excuses when not seeing the wanted results. In order to be successful in this field, having complete knowledge of how to be lean and muscular is beneficial. In order to achieve the desired results, persistence in routine is a must. Remember, no one becomes a champion overnight. Therefore, it demands working hard both physically and mentally.

For one thing, it is very obvious that it is not enough to just have a healthy mind, you also have to have a healthy body. Therefore, maintaining fitness contributes to the general wellness of body and mind. The first thing to know is that the most important thing to do to become fit is have a diet plan. It means cutting junk food intake and starting to consume foods that are mostly vegetables and proteins. This way, the body gets into the state of ketosis fast, which helps in preserving muscles while burning fat. Next, when it comes to fitness, doing the right exercises for your body matters. This way, the muscles build up in the right places. So, when it comes to building muscles, make sure that they are big, lean and symmetrical.

The human body comprises of mainly protein, which the body uses to build and repair muscles. This makes protein an important part of any diet. There are different forms of protein, but the one in most abundance is whey protein. Whey protein consists of both branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which are necessary for building muscles, and essential amino acids (EAAs). The body needs (EAAs) for survival. Whey protein is absorbed quickly, which is ideal for muscle building. These amino acids help to build muscle and reduce recovery time after intense workouts. Whey protein can be consumed as such or as a supplement in shakes and bars.

As a matter of fact, diet, training, and genetics are three of the most important factors when it comes to being lean and muscular. Ironically, one factor often overlooked is genetics. If you do not have the body type for big muscles, you can still develop a lean and muscular look. You simply cannot change your genetics, but you can build muscle to create a lean and muscular appearance.

According to the renowned author William Wolcott, in order to get lean and muscular, you need to work out at least 6 times a week. Many of the most muscular men in the world are bodybuilders or serious athletes.
The muscles comprises of two different types of fibers. There are slow twitch fibers, also known as red fibers. This type of fiber can fatigue very easily, but have a high capacity for endurance. These muscles mainly develop to build lean muscle mass.

Then there are fast twitch fibers, or white muscle fibers. They have very little endurance capacity but have a very high potential for strength. The typical male’s body consists of about 40 percent slow twitch fibers and 60 percent fast twitch fibers. The opposite is true for females. Henceforth, to develop lean muscle mass, you must work out at least six days a week for at least 45 minutes each day.

When you imagine a bodybuilder, someone like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson comes to mind. He has an impressive physique and plenty of muscle definition. If you do not have the body type for big muscles, you can still develop a lean and muscular look. Our bodies respond better to resistance training than they do to aerobic exercise. This is why lifting weights will build your muscles faster than running on a treadmill will burn fat. To build muscle, you must overload your muscles with resistance by increasing the number of repetitions or intensity of resistance and lift heavier weights than usual.

Accordingly, this is why bodybuilders have a low body fat percentage. Each bodybuilder gets big by following a very specific program, diet and exercise regimen. All of this is planned out by a coach or an expert trainer.

In summary, getting a muscular and lean body, as well as maintaining it, is easier said than done. Most people who start out with the goal of getting big and lean end up quitting the lifestyle after a few months.
