Stress

Stress is something that can be very difficult to deal with, especially if you’re looking to lose weight. It can be difficult to find the time or motivation to exercise, eat right and focus on other important health factors when you’re stressed out. However, there are ways to help relieve stress and get back on track with your goals.

Relaxation techniques such as meditation and yoga can help both mentally and physically without being too taxing on your schedule. The best part is that they don’t have to take up a lot of time in order for them to be effective. It’s best to start slow and build upon those habits.

Almost all of us will experience stress at some point in our lives, but how do we know when that stress is helping our body cope or when it’s doing the opposite?
When faced with a stressful situation, there’s a popular misconception that the more intense the better. But in reality, an intense workout actually will increase stress on your body and may even make you feel worse. So what are some tips for relieving stress?
“Exercise is a great way to manage stress, but it must be done in moderation,” says Dr. Domenic Sica, Director of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Integrated Medicine. “A 30-minute moderate workout is best. Anything more intense can lead to a greater release of stress hormones, which can actually lead to more tension and anxiety.”
Be sure not to skip meals during stressful times either.

When you’re stressed, your muscles tense up and send tension signals to your brain. After a while, those tension signals start to build and can cause you to feel sweaty, nauseous, or dizzy.
